Margie and Judson Wingard didn’t set out to create a big business. It developed out of their love of plants and their desire to help others enjoy them just as much as they did.

The seed was planted in the late 1960s, when the Wingards began propagating azaleas for their yard. Thanks to their green thumbs, they found themselves with more than they could use, so they set up a roadside stand with a hand-painted sign advertising "azaleas for sale 50 cents." (CLICK HERE)

Summer At Wingard's

Spring is turning to summer and thoughts of vacations, graduations and warm weather.  After that cool, wet Winter, we're ready for it.  Daylilies are in full bloom, along with hydrangeas and loads of annuals and perennials!  Don't forget to water, water, water during these hot summer months, as your plants will appreciate it and reward you with new growth and blooms.

We have over 125 varieties of daylilies and 30 varieties of hydrangeas, so be sure to stop in and pick out several for your yard, or a crape myrtle or two!

As you may know, we started out growing Azaleas, which are the first bloomers in the Spring.  Although they only bloom for about two weeks, their showy splendor makes us all take notice.  A George Tabor azalea is featured in our March advertising, as it is one of the all time favorite blooms that consistently stands the test of time.  George Tabor is one of many different varieties of azaleas that we grow, here at Wingard's.
